From the Principal

Dear parents and caregivers

We have had a very busy week at school preparing for the Christmas concerts,  the Year 6 graduation, the school swimming sports and a number of lovely social events associated with the festive season.  The children are very excited and we are all enjoying the spirit of Christmas and all that goes with it.

Zone Athletic Sports

I was very proud of our athletes on Tuesday.  Please note the details in the next section of today’s newsletter.  Our competitors were wonderful in the way that they competed, behaved and contributed throughout the day.  We had some great results. Thank you to the supporters. It was just great to see you there.

Zone Touch Rugby Field Day

You are welcome to go to Papatoetoe North Primary School to support our players next Tuesday December 11, starting at 10.00am.  We are entering two teams and wish them well.

All the best for a wonderful weekend.  Take care on the roads and enjoy your Christmas preparations.

General Notices


Assembly Day:  On Friday, 7 December 2007 assembly will be run by Room 01.  As always you are most welcome to attend but please make sure that you are seated by 1.15pm.

Calendars:  The completed artwork calendars arrived back at school this week and they look fantastic!  We will be sending away a second order early next week. The order forms can be collected from the office and orders must be placed by Monday December 7 so the calendars can be back at school before school closes for the year.   

Zone Athletics: We had a great day at Omana Park on Tuesday with the other primary schools in our cluster. All our athletes tried their best and performed extremely well. The star performers were:
Shaun Jenkins & William Ward - 600m  Also Shaun Jenkins for high jump 11yr boys
Anna Chea - 600m & all round performance
Alissa Dam - 7yr girls 50m
Jamieson Riggs-Marino - 8 yr boys 75m
Emma Ruddy - 10 yr girls 100m
Frishta Suliaman - 11 yr girls 100m
Christina Lafoga - 11 yr girls softball throw
Robert Meleisea - 11 yr boys 100m  


URGENT 2008 Enrolments:  If you have or know of  any preschoolers who live in the Papatoetoe Central school zone and
will be starting in Term 1, 2008, would you please fill in this form and return it to the school office.  All new children
who will be starting on the first day back (4 February 2008)  please make sure you have completed your pre enrolment
forms as soon as possible.

PTA

Term four is drawing to a close and the children’s PTA Disco evening is upon us once again.  The disco will be held tomorrow, Friday 7 December in the School Hall.

The cost is $3.00 per child and there will be spot prizes.  Please note that there will door sales only.

Children will be able to purchase lollies (assorted prices), drinks $1.00 and liquorice straps .50c, ice cream (senior disco only) $1.00. Free cordial is also available.  

The junior disco will be at the usual time of 6pm to 7.15pm and the senior school,  from 7.30pm to 9pm.    All children must be delivered to and collected from  the main door of the hall by a parent promptly at the finish time.  Only the Great South Road gate will be open for access.

Please collect your children promptly at the finish time so that the hall may be cleaned and tidied.
