Our term 3 value is:
Duty
Our key messages
with the children are:
Duty is giving to
others and giving every job your best effort
Duty is caring for
our environment: recycle, reduce and re-use
From the
Principal
Dear parents/caregivers
Firstly, many thanks to the wonderful parents from the PTA who sizzled
700 sausages last Friday. They were all stars! Special
thanks to Stan Good who organised the barbecue and cooked away
merrily all morning! Thank you very much parents, for your
support. Funds raised will go towards the fitness trail which we
hope to build next year.
Congratulations: Our very special congratulations go to Paul Ariu
who has been awarded a scholarship to attend Kings School next
year. We know that Paul will enjoy the opportunity that the
scholarship provides and that the grounding
that he has received at our school will stand him in good stead
there. We are all very proud of him.
School Sustainability Project: Thanks to Sheila Robinson, Kevin
Deed and a student gardening group, our project is going really
well. The vegetable garden outside the technology room contains
lettuces, carrots, beans and silver beet which are all growing in
quite a spectacular fashion! We have purchased a small glass
house so that we can grow and nurture our own seeds more effectively
and the children can learn how easy it is to produce their own very
healthy food. Shortly the group will make some salads with the
goodies that they are growing! We can recommend a very good NZ website
that encourages children to grow their own gardens: www.coolkidsgrow.com
Zone Gymnastics: We wish our school gymnasts all the best for the
zone championships next Tuesday. They have been training hard all
term. Special thanks go to coaches Heather McLeod, Sharon Garner
and Trisha Lelei.
End of term 3: School closes for 2 weeks next Friday, 26
September. School starts for term 4 on Monday 13 October.
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. I imagine there may
be a few of you keeping your eye on the Warriors game in Auckland on
Friday night.. Let's hope that they have a great win.
Kind regards
Marilyn Gwilliam

by your children and is a compulsory charge. Under the Ministry of
Education Policy, we are entitled to ask for a fee and a donation. We
have decided not to ask for the donation but the fee must be
paid. We will shortly be handing out letters to those parents who
have not paid the materials fee. If there is any issue relating to
this, please contact Lorraine Biggs (Executive Officer /
Secretary Board of Trustees) at the school office as soon as possible.
Please ensure that your material fee is paid as soon as possible, to
avoid any further action and possible cut backs in school resources
